1988 - 1989
July 1988
The group "Little Tigers" was officially formed in Taiwan.
January 1989
They released an album with the Taiwan duet, Sad & Happy Group" called "Happy
New Years." Within two months, the album sold over 250,000 copies in Taiwan.
April 1989
They released their first album called "Leisurely Cruising" and became teen
idols in Taiwan.
Kai Li sponsored a "Autographing Marathon Event" for them.
Over 20,000 fans showed up. However, it became to chaotic when they showed
up. Thus, they had to leave the place.
May 1989
They opened 20 little tour concerts in Taiwan.
September 1989
They released their first photo album called "Meeting Under the Tropics."
They became the first males of Taiwan to release a photo album.
Little Tigers' manga came out.
Japan's TV station, NHK, came to interview them.
October 1989
They had an autograph event called "We love the Little Tigers" which lasted
over 8 hours in Taiwan.
With a great number of fan support, their second album "Boys Don't Cry" sold
over 1.2 million copies in Taiwan.
November 1989
They became the first males in Taiwan to release a calendar.
December 1989
Their first album "Leisurely Cruising" was released in China. Within one
month, the album sold over 4 million copies .
1990
February 1990
Their third album "The Red Dragonfly" was released.
They were nominated for the "Best Group" for the First Annual Golden Songs.
March 1990
They made their first movie called "The Journeyman" which was directed by the
Taiwan director, Chu Yin Ping.
April 1990
Their album "The Red Dragonfly" was #1 on the charts around Asia and sold over 40 thousand
copies in Taiwan. Their record company released a special "Red Dragonfly
Platinum CD."
Japan's TV station, NHK, came and filmed them for a show.
August 1990
Their music video and photo album, "The Red Dragonfly," came out.
September 1990
Their fourth album "Meeting of the Stars" was released.
October 1990
Tommy announces that he will temporary stop all public appearances to
study for his pre-college examinations.
November 1990
Their 1991 calendars came out.
December 1990
Their two albums, "Red Dragonfly" and "Meeting of the Stars," were among
the most popular albums of the year.
1991
January 1991
Nicky Wu and Benny Chen starred in a TV series called "The Little Hero, Dragon
Whirlwind" (Siu Hup Lone Suin Fung).
August 1991
Tommy passes his pre-college examinations.
Their fifth album "Love" was released. It sold over 5 million copies around Asia.
September 1991
They went to China to participate in the campaign for raising money for the
flood.
November 1991
They were the special guests in the Third Annual Golden Songs Award in Taiwan.
Their third calendar came out.
December 1991
The group broke up temporarily since Benny Chen had to go and serve in the
army. "Good-bye Little Tigers" event was held for him.
They released their sixth album "Good-bye." It sold over 3 million copies.
Their book called "Forever Little Tigers" was published.
1992 - 1996
January 1992
The Little Tigers "Best Dance Remix" was released. It sold over 1 million
copies.
December 1993
Benny Chen came back from the army. The Little Tigers are reunited and
released the album "The Stars Still Shines." Within a month,
the album sold over 4 million copies around Asia.
The Little Tigers were special guests in the Fifth Annual Golden Songs Awards
in Taiwan.
December 1994
They released the album "Happy Forever."
May 1995
The Little Tigers had three concerts in Taiwan.
December 1995
Little Tigers released their album, "Feeling Helplessly Worried."
January 1996
Little Tigers' song, "Happy Feelings Are Always the Same," was one of the
"Singapore 933 FM Top Ten Most Popular Golden Songs for 1995."
